I went for my first eye exam in about 6 years on Saturday. I didn’t expect much from my visit. I’ve had 20/20 vision my entire life. My eyes seem strained at the end of the day and I get the occasional headache, but that’s to be expected when you are in front of a computer as much as I am. So I went in anticipating a $75 eye exam… However, three hours later I walked out with a $400 pair of glasses. Of course, I just had to have DKNY (designer) frames! But hey, I’m going to be wearing these a lot… so why settle on a pair that I don’t really like. The new glasses have been a hit so far. I ran into a guy I used to date on Saturday night who kept telling me over and over how hot I looked. And have gotten several compliments from people I don’t even know. So I guess it’s not a total wash. But I can’t help feeling a bit aged. It’s kind of a rule in my family that we have good vision until our mid-30’s… and then it’s downhill from there. But hey… it’s okay. I may be getting older, but at least I’m still hot!

Cute glasses! They make you look even more fabulous
I agree about the splurge…you don’t want to skimp on something you wear so prominently every day of your life.
A few years ago I noticed that I was having a hard time seeing at night while driving. I was pretty concerned as I wasn’t sure if it was because I was “night blind” or just a “night blond”. I had my eyes tested and he told me that there was nothing wrong with my eye sight, despite having blurry vision. He said I just stared at my computer screen too long each day and once I stopped using a computer, I’d be fine. Like that’s ever going to happen. So now I still use a computer and my eye sight still stinks at night. I think I’ll go to a different eye doctor to correct the problem.
But you’re not old! The glasses are stylish!
Both my parents wear glasses so I knew I was screwed from the get-go. It’s weird, but my husband (who also wears glasses) actually told me I looked hotter after I got my new glasses. I guess it’s a naughty librarian thing. Enjoy them though, they are super cute.
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was a teenager. Actually, usually I wear contacts, but I notice that some people remark how good I look in specs. When I was in high school they made me totally dorky, but I guess now they make me hot. Go figure.
I agree with Sarah’s husband. Glasses can be hot. Good Lord, though, they did something terrible to you. Your eyes have turned red!
